You fear the wrong dangers. You fear asking for commitments: Your fear of asking for commitments is based on your belief that your prospective client will say “no” and that you are unprepared to respond appropriately. Your fear of asking for commitments may also stem from the belief that you have not created enough value to deserve the commitment. You should not fear asking for the commitments you need; you should fear losing an opportunity because you didn’t ask.Fear of discussing price: Your fear of price discussions is based on your belief that your prospective client is going to ask for—or demand—a discounted price. This fear is based on your belief that price will cost you your opportunity, as well as you’re being unprepared to handle that discussion. You shouldn’t fear discussing price. You should fear not having the pricing discussion and not reiterating the value that you create. By avoiding this conversation you make a loss on price more likely.Fear of asking for referrals: You fear asking for referrals because you believe it makes you self-oriented. This “ask” in no way benefits your client, in your mind anyway. But the truth is different.By not asking for referrals you are depriving your client of the opportunity to reciprocate for the value that you create by sharing you with other people for whom you can also create value.Fear of showing them the big solution: You fear that by showing your clients what they really need that the solution will be too big, too expensive, and that you will frighten them off. What you should fear is not creating enough value, not creating a strategic enough initiative to be worth pursuing, and playing too low. You should fear being thought of as transactional. We sometimes don’t fear the true dangers enough and we fear the minor dangers too much. Essential Reading! Cardiff boss Warnock: Poor start handed Spurs winby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveCardiff City boss Neil Warnock admits they were never in the game for defeat to Tottenham.Cardiff lost 3-0 at home via goals to Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min.Warnock said: “When we start off like that we shoot ourselves in the foot. But that’s life and you move on.”I was pleased we hung in there because it’s easy to throw the towel in when you’re 3-0 down to a team like this. It’s not that the effort is less than 100 percent ever. The focus as always is on the process. I am confident that I will have another good ICC tournament,” Dhawan told PTI during an exclusive interview. The 33-year-old had a modest international season before roaring back to form in the IPL, scoring 521 runs for Delhi Capitals to finish fourth in the top run-getters’ list.So was there any kind of pressure as the World Cup was round the corner, “No” was Dhawan’s emphatic reply.”I am not that sort of a guy who feels the pressure. I know what kind of a player I am and what my capabilities are,” said Dhawan, who has 16 ODI hundreds and 5355 runs in 128 ODIs.advertisementAsked if the dissection of his technique outside the off-stump and the kind of analysis done bothers him, the senior opener replied, “To know what is being written about me, I need to read the newspapers or watch television. I don’t do both, so what’s being discussed hardly bothers me. And as far as social media is concerned, yes I am on twitter and Facebook but I hardly use them.””I am not someone who is constantly checking twitter updates or Instagram comments. I just check it occasionally. Let me tell you something — I don’t have time for negativity in my life. It can bog you down if you constantly want validation from the outside world. I don’t need that,” he said.In fact, he says, Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly’s presence in Capitals’ fold couldn’t have happened at the right time.”Both Ricky and Dada were successful international captains because they had the ability to create champions. Obviously their experience helps. They told me that there is no problem with my technique.”It has now been 15 years in senior representative cricket for Dhawan (having made his first-class debut back in 2004) and the fire still burns brightly in him.”Mera jazbaa aaj bhi utni hi hai (the passion is still the same as it was when I started). As I told you that I have shut out negativity and primarily because I am a happy go lucky person. Before I made my Test debut, I had played nearly nine years of first-class cricket.”Had I not been passionate and hungry, I couldn’t have performed for India after nine years of domestic cricket. Now I have played six years of international cricket. It has been a great journey,” he said. There is a different facet to his personality as he has now started taking interest in classical music and is learning flute.”I am a big fan of Sufi music. The Wadali brothers (Puranchand and Pyarelal Wadali) are my favourite. Now I have started learning flute and I am enjoying it like anything.”So how did he start learning flute? “I realised that I do have time at my disposal when I am not playing matches or training. Once I started listening to flute on Youtube, I took a liking for it and decided to learn the art.””You need to de-stress and for that you need to have a hobby. Har insaan ko life mein kuch shaunkh paalna chahiye. Yeh zaroori hain. I am not someone who would over-think about my game.”So rather than sitting and chatting in my hotel room, I thought why don’t I learn a bit of music. I am still very new but I now I can identify the raagas like Hamsadhwani.”A devoted family man, Dhawan would shuttle between Delhi and Melbourne, where his wife Ayesha and his three children are settled.”My family often joins me on tours but then children have school. So whenever I get a 15-day break, I am off to Melbourne to spend time with my wife and kids.”advertisementWith a young family, it is difficult but he attributes it to the strong support system and the sacrifices his wife Ayesha and children make.”They know that my focus is on providing them a good life. You get desperate to call a question, any question.” The Woodfibre LNG project is a proposed small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing and export facility, located approximately seven kilometres southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. The project would be located on an existing industrial site, the former Woodfibre pulp mill, which is well suited for conversion to a LNG facility.Natural gas would be delivered to the Woodfibre site through the existing and expanded FortisBC pipeline, where it would be liquefied and loaded into carriers for shipment. It is currently anticipated that the project could export approximately two million tonnes of LNG per year, which is about one-tenth of the anticipated volume of some of the large LNG projects proposed for northern B.C.The cost of the project is approximately USD 1.46 billion.

The world needs “new thinking and a new inclusiveness” to tackle the perils of climate change, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said today, marking World Environment Day with a call for urgent global action that takes into account the needs of the world’s least affluent countries.“Solutions to global warming proposed by developed nations cannot come at the expense of less fortunate neighbours on the planet,” Mr. Ban wrote in an opinion column for The International Herald Tribune.Noting that global warming “affects us all, yet it affects us all differently,” he said wealthy nations already have the resources and know-how to adapt to global warming.“An African farmer, losing crops or herds to drought and dust storms, or a Tuvalu islander worried his village might soon be under water, is infinitely more vulnerable.”Mr. Ban, who is travelling to Heiligendamm, Germany, for a summit meeting this week with leaders from the Group of Eight (G8) industrialized nations, noted that the United States and European countries were proposing contrasting strategies for dealing with climate change.“We shall see how all this unfolds… But let us remember. A G8 agreement that is not global in scope cannot hope to offer solutions to a global problem. It is time for new thinking and a new inclusiveness.”He welcomed US President George W. Bush’s recent declaration that he would launch a US climate initiative, but urged that it take place within the UN’s global framework for discussion.Mr. Ban stressed that “the science is clear” on climate change, with every day bringing new evidence of both its growing impact and its principal cause – humans – and the need for urgent action.“Today’s solution du jour – the rage for carbon trading – is but one weapon in our arsenal,” he wrote. “New technologies, energy conservation, forestry projects and renewable fuels, as well as private markets, must all be part of a long-term strategy. So must adaptation. After all, mitigation can only go so far.”He added that he would soon announce the details of a special high-level meeting on climate change, to be held in New York in September before the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly.Recently, he appointed three special envoys, tasked with speaking out for the interests and concerns of nations most vulnerable to climate change, home to the vast majority of the world’s people. In a separate message issued to mark World Environment Day, the Secretary-General said there are many policy and technological options available to avert the impending crisis, but increased political will is needed to use them. Developed countries in particular can do more to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and encourage energy efficiency, he said. They can also support clean development in fast-growing economies such as Brazil, China and India, as well as adaptation measures in those countries that face the greatest hardships from climate change.Everyone must recognize the need to slow the momentum of the dramatic environmental changes that are taking place around the globe, he added. 5 June 2007The world needs “new thinking and a new inclusiveness” to tackle the perils of climate change, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said today, marking World Environment Day with a call for urgent global action that takes into account the needs of the world’s least affluent countries.
Among the promises the Government has not met, according to the JVP, is giving insurance to fishermen and farmers, allocating 6 percent of the GDP for free education and also giving permanent houses with land to people living in line houses in the estates. The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today accused the Government of failing to fully implement its 100 day programme.JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that the Government had promised the public several concessions but only a few were offered through its interim budget. Silva said that the Government has now been in office for more than 100 days and has not been able to even use those additional days to fulfill all its promises. Tilvin Silva said that even the 19th Amendment to the constitution was passed in Parliament with the greatest difficulty as some members of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) attempted to obstruct the bill.Silva also said that the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party are now looking at what is best for their future and not the country. (Colombo Gazette) The JVP General Secretary also said that the Government must submit the bill on the Right ti Information to Parliament soon.He also noted that an unstable situation has arisen in Parliament with opposition members who are supporting former President Mahinda Rajapaksa attempting to block bills presented by the new Government.

“Over the next fifteen years, the world will make massive investments in new infrastructure for cities, energy and agriculture,” he said. “If this spending is directed towards low-carbon goods, technologies and services, we will be on our way towards a more sustainable, equitable future. But if we ignore the low-carbon pathway, we may fail to achieve the sustainable development goals,” he added referring to the targets currently being crafted by UN Member States to succeed the landmark, largely poverty-focused Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) after 2015. He looked ahead to the upcoming summits on sustainable development and on climate change and he stressed that the two were complementary and interdependent, emphasising the contribution renewable energy could make to cleaner air and better health, and the potential of climate-smart agriculture to boost water and food security.“Climate change threatens to undermine hard-earned development gains,” he said. “But combatting it is an opportunity for low-carbon growth that will benefit people and the planet.”Mr. Ban pointed to India’s ‘development without destruction’ vision and described how it is apparent in the country’s rapid scale-up of solar power, the Ganga Rejuvenation project and the creation of smart cities.“These solutions can reduce poverty, catalyse clean, sustainable growth, and increase resilience to climate change,” he said.He underlined the need for Governments to build policy frameworks in order to build the momentum necessary to pursue the correct, sustainable course and said the private sector, civil society and the scientific community and think-tanks such as TERI also had important roles to play.“We need all hands on deck to meet the climate challenge,” he said. “Now is the moment. It is time for action – time for a global agreement.”

Opposition leader Dr Bharrat JagdeoOpposition Leader, Dr Bharrat Jagdeo is now calling the 365 per cent increase in the bridge tolls that was announced on Tuesday by the Berbice Bridge Company Incorporated (BBCI) a political “campaign gimmick” by the incumbent Administration.“The Berbice Bridge Act in section 3 under Toll Order states that the Maximum amount of toll to be charged during concession periods and any increase requires the Minster’s intervention and the Minster implements it through a toll order… the toll order specifies the rates and has to be signed by the Minister…this increase can’t happen without the Governments intervention. It’s easy for anyone who wants to get to the bottom of this matter to do so…this is purely a campaign gimmick” Jagdeo said.He was at the time speaking during his weekly press conference held at his Church Street, Queenstown office on Wednesday.According to the General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C), the increases seemed to have come as a result of collusion between the Government and BBCI which would then see the current Administration acting as the knight in shining armour who steps in and saves the day by lowering or blocking the increases. The Opposition Leader said that the financial model which is an annex to the bridge’s contract, guides how the bridge is to be operated. He noted that the financial projection shows a constant decrease, with the exception of two years, of tolls until 2026 when the bridge is expected to be handed over to the state.Currently, the revenue of the Berbice River Bridge is reportedly doing better than that in the financial model, as such; Jagdeo further questioned the shocking increase. The former President posited “All Government has to do is not sign the toll order. If they collude with the company to increase toll, we are committed to decreasing rates back to same level if we regain power.Jagdeo speculated that the Chairman of BBCI, Dr Surendra Persaud instigated the decision made by the Board.“They prevailed upon him not just to announce an increase but to make it so shocking that they will once again get a campaign issue, so Patterson like Granger will be the knight and shining armour. This is purely a campaign gimmick, it is criminal. This is an act of desperation on the part of the coalition Government… they can’t campaign on anything else so they are whipping up sentiments” the Opposition Leader claimed.Jagdeo pointed to several reasons why the Government had to resort to this means in order to garner support.“Health care has not improved in Berbice, the Ophthalmology centre is inoperable, no jobs and thousands were left without jobs, no major infrastructural work in the region, so what do they do? Well they have the toll majorly increased in order for them to act like they care for the people when they decrease it” Jagdeo pointed.Addressing the notion that the bridge was a bad deal hence why it is in its current state, the Opposition Leader said that he will remain proud of his decision to have the bridge constructed. The Berbice Bridge“I’m proud of the fact that I passed this law and signed an agreement and built the bridge without burdening taxpayers. The toll was similar to what people were paying to cross on the ferry. We are proud of that fact. We are proud also that the fares would have remained constant and that it would eventually have decreased until it is handed to the Government.“This bridge has been transformational for Berbice and I am being blamed. But I want to say that in my tenure, the airport was started, and the stadium was built in my tenure and the swimming pool, convention centre, many tactical institutions, Linden hospital and water treatment plant, the Skeldon factory, the Leonora Track…contrast that with what they are doing, practically nothing. Since the sixties they talked about building that bridge and nothing so we built it” Jagdeo said as he applauded his Administration. Moreover, the Opposition Leader urged the Government to to release documents to the public regarding to operations of the bridge.“PPP is opposed to any increase in the tolls, financially it cannot be justified, we believe that this increase is not part of the contract that we signed, we believe that the Minster must release the document which is a public document and toll order as well as contract because there is no secrecy about this. We urge the Minster to not sign toll order, if they persist in this which we believe is a ploy, PPP will reverse this. We believe that this is a part of a gimmick in the campaign season” he said.It was announced on Tuesday that to cross the bridge, cars and minibuses will now have to pay $8,040; small trucks, pickups and four-wheel drive vehicles $14,600; medium trucks $27,720; large trucks $49,600; boats $401,040; and freight $1,680.The increases are expected to take effect on November 12, 2018. British artist Olly Moss was a little upset after he discovered the art inside the Borderlands 2 game box was more than a little similar to his own artwork. It wasn’t a direct copy, but the image above is a comparison picture he posted on his Twitter that clearly shows the Borderlands 2 art looks a lot like the movie posters he created for Star Wars. In fact, the design looks like a copy and paste from Olly’s work. He wasn’t angry though, he was just surprised as he’s a big fan of developer Gearbox.Well, Gearbox head Randy Pitchford wanted to fix the problem, even if Olly didn’t seem to mind all that much. Randy has now offered Olly a job with Gearbox, stating he thinks he’s amazing and that having a piece of his artwork lifted, however small, was wrong. Quite right, too. This offer came as a bit of a surprise to Olly who told Randy on Twitter he wished he’d never even mentioned the whole ordeal. It’s good to see Randy trying to make it up to Olly. Copying artwork, even if it’s just an element of it or a certain style is pretty lazy and hopefully the artist who plagiarized got into trouble for it. Olly Moss is most well known for designing the box art for Resistance 3, he also makes a number of commissioned movie posters. He’s an incredibly talented guy and any game or movie studio would be lucky to have him. It seems that now, Gearbox have that privilege if Olly accepts. I for one can’t wait to see what they create together if he does.via Develop Online, Olly Moss
Robert Mueller is now a best-selling author.Book publishers’ forthcoming editions of the special counsel’s report zoomed to the top of the Amazon’s and Barnes & Noble’s lists of book best-sellers Friday. That comes a day after the report was publicly released, culminating the nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election and the involvement of Donald Trump and his associates. The redacted 448-page report is available for free as a PDF from the U.S. Department of Justice’s website at at this link. But right now, there’s brisk business to be done in packaging up Mueller’s report in dead-tree format (as well as ebook and audiobook versions, which factor into the rankings) that may include commentary, analysis and additional documents. As of Friday afternoon, No. 1 on Amazon’s chart is an edition of Mueller’s report from Skyhorse Publishing, which clocks in at 640 pages and includes an introduction by Alan Dershowitz along with supplementary documents. The paperback is available for $9.20 as a pre-order, with an April 30 placeholder publication date, but Skyhorse notes in the listing that it plans to publish the book as soon as possible. Related Popular on Variety Kristen Stewart on ‘Seberg’: ‘It’s Not Hard for Me to Wear My Politics’ Sacha B. Cohen’s Disgust at President Trump Fueled ‘Who is America’ In the No. 2 spot is the Washington Post’s version, published by Scribner. The trade paperback ($10.22 on pre-order) is expected to be published April 30, while the ebook is being released April 19. At 736 pages, the Post edition includes an analysis by the newspaper’s staff, timeline, guide to the individuals involved, and additional documents. Also on Amazon’s chart was an edition of the Mueller report from publisher Melville House (No. 9), priced at $7.40 for the paperback pre-order. Melville touts its version as including only the text of Mueller’s report “with no positioning or framing apparatus — such as a celebrity introduction — that would give it bias or impede its clarity.”On Barnes & Noble’s list of best-selling books Friday, Skyhorse’s Mueller report edition also was No. 1, followed by Melville House’s at No. 6 and the Post’s at No. 8.Mueller’s report described 10 incidents of possible obstruction of justice by Trump, but the report said the investigators did not “draw ultimate conclusions about the president’s conduct.” Instead, the report accepted a DOJ conclusion that a sitting president could not be charged or indicted and suggested that the question of obstruction of justice should be left to Congress.“The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the president’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law,” the report stated. ×Actors Reveal Their Favorite Disney PrincessesSeveral actors, like Daisy Ridley, Awkwafina, Jeff Goldblum and Gina Rodriguez, reveal their favorite Disney princesses.
