first_imgNSW and Queensland will be battling it out again as they look to claim the State of Origin title, which is being held at Waterworth Park, Tempe on August 13-14. NSW will be out for revenge against the Queenslanders, who claimed the 2003 State of Origin title, winning both the Mens and Womens Open series. With NSW and Queensland being Australia’s leading touch football states, both the NSW and Queensland Mens and Womens sides are almost all present Australian representatives and promising for an extremely high standard of touch football. The 2003 Interstate Challenge includes Mixed Open, Mens and Womens 20’s, 30’s, 35’s, 40’s and Mens 45’s and 50’s. In 2003 the Interstate Challenge was an even affair with NSW claiming six of the eleven titles; the Mixed Open, Womens 20 years, Mens 30 years, Mens 35 years, Womens 30 years and Womens 35 years titles. Queensland claimed the remaining five Interstate Challenge titles; Mens 20 years, Mens 40 years, Womens 40 years, Mens 45 years and Mens 50 years. The State of Origin and Interstate Challenge include three games for each division. Game one in each division will be played on the afternoon of Friday the 13th with games two and three being held on Saturday the 14th. The NSW and Queensland Under 20’s sides are also full of young players who have been selected in the Australian 20 years squads for the 2005 Youth World Cup. The 2005 Youth World Cup is being held at Kawana on the Sunshine Coast from January 19-23. A final selection camp will be held for the 20 years Australian squads on Sunday August 15.
