The 3D hasn’t caused the eyeballs to pop out of any small children’s heads (yet), but the recently released Nintendo 3DS is already getting its first round of user complaints, courtesy of the newly christened “black screen of death,” an homage to the infamous Windows error that has plagued users for years. The message reads, “An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again.” Users have reported seeing it on a number of games, including Lego Star Wars, Ghost Recon, Star Wars, and Monkey Ball. It can occur during game play or startup. At present, it appears to only affect a small number of users. No official word from Nintendo yet.
