Ted Cruz (right).Congressman Beto O’Rourke said Monday he and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, will not debate this Friday, August 31.Earlier this summer, the Cruz campaign proposed five debates – all on Fridays – with the first to take place in Dallas on August 31.Congressman O’Rourke (D-TX), who is running against Cruz in the Senate race, spoke at a forum in Austin.“One of the challenges we’ve had is that Senator Cruz not only attempted to dictate the date, the place the time, um, also the moderators, the subjects that we could and could not talk about. The furniture on the stage…,” the Democratic Representative from El Paso commented.Still, O’Rourke said he’s confident Cruz and him will come to an agreement and added he would be happy to debate on Saturday or Sunday to accommodate Cruz’s Senate schedule. Contiki’s new ‘Gifter’ campaign encourages the gift of travel Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Share TORONTO — Contiki is encouraging Canadians to give the gift that keeps on giving – travel – through its newly launched ‘Gifter’ campaign, directed at those who purchase trips for their millennial loved ones.Totalling 30% of Contiki’s bookings, ‘gifters’ consist of parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles and guardians of young Canadians. Youth and travel are inextricably linked as a rite of passage, says the company, and nothing quite prepares a young adult for full adulthood than that of travelling abroad solo for the first time.“Travel is something that every young Canadian should have the opportunity to experience,” says Sheralyn Berry, Vice President of Sales for Contiki Canada. “Who doesn’t remember their first time travelling abroad alone for the first time? It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time. That’s why we are thrilled to be speaking to our ‘gifters’ and encouraging them to give the gift of travel to their millennial loved ones and leave the planning to us.”More news: TRAVELSAVERS welcomes Julie Virgilio to the teamThe campaign highlights the many reasons why Contiki, the youth travel expert, is the right choice for their loved one’s first time abroad.
